Story

Dried out artistically from a difficult stay in Paris – in my opinion one of the most overrated cities in the world – I came home and met the band "Mach das Licht aus, Mädchen" ("Kill The Light, Girl") at the famous TRANSPORTERBAR. We instantly decided to produce a video clip together in Berlin – one they had already written the story and arranged the props for. Originally, we had planned to shoot the clip for the song "Candy Queen". But a funny thing happened on the way to Berlin. I was flying with Air Berlin and there was a group of HELL'S ANGELS from Cottbus, Germany, on the same plane.

They were, of course, a bit louder than the rest of the people and impossible not to notice with their matching jackets and stylized behaviour. I had already forgotten the incident by the time I got to the arranged shooting location, the "Kottbuser Tor" subway station. Of course at that moment the Cottbuser Hell's Angels popped into my mind again and I took it as a sign. I told the band about my encounter and suggested we shoot the clip to their song "Hell Bike" instead. They agreed. Hell Bike was shot entirely on Super 8, starring Suzie Jacuzzi, Doug Betroug and Gordon Bleu.
