Story

Another great Super 8 video clip for AROMABAR. The main idea was for it to star people who either can't dance at all, or are what one would call 'uncool' dancers. But it sort of became a melange of good and bad dancers. The main bad dancer is Reinhard Hackl, the brother of the band's musical mastermind (and often mistaken for myself, or for my own brother). He nailed the role, I have to say. Then I included my nephew Basile, who was four at the time and could do these great martial-arts-style dance moves.

The café scenes were shot at Cafe NIL, which is a place we had already used briefly ten years prior to that for the video clip of "Little Brother". We felt we had to go back there. It is a very beautiful Café, owned by an Egyptian Monsieur, which has been around for quite some time now, more or less with the same nice Arabic layout. It has big glass windows on two sides, along the walls, so it offers perfect lighting. I needed almost no additional lights. The rest of the clip was shot at various locations in Paris and Vienna. You can see Montmartre briefly.

Starring Basile & Louise Marambat, Roland & Reinhard Hackl, Big John Whitfield, Andi Kinzl, Karin & Samira Steger, Barbara Braun, Marie-Laure Cysique, Clara-Ida Cysique Gerhart, Philipp Wesener, Scarlett O'Heartattack, Bianca Borghesi, Amélie Caussade, the cats of our friend Anna Berlin, and John Whitfield's dog Coolie. Oh, and I'm in it, too. A very brief cameo appearance at the end. The bit at the end is also an homage to the old Vienna SÜDBAHNHOF (south train station), which no longer exists. They tore it down to build a new central station, the Hauptbahnhof.
